Art as an expression of emotion is unmatched. The goal of art is to express the way we see the world through color, movement, and fun! There are a lot of professional artists who are reincorporating fun into their process. Watching Instagram, I have had the pleasure of watching artists with a canvas on the ground riding a swing and painting while swinging. There really is no better way to spend our time on this earth than by participating in the arts. I’m not advocating everyone should become a professional artist but having a creative outlet as a grownup, even if only as a hobby, will keep the child within us alive!
Why kid's art?
If art is the expression of emotion, then kids' art is its purest form. Kids aren’t worried about what others might think or about paying bills. Art for kids is just fun; or at least it should be. I have seen too many adults (including myself) who used to love doing art as a kid but as Father Time starts making us older, we lose our connection to our creative spark. We begin to care too much about what others think and the spark fades. But what if as kids, the grown-ups around us motivated us to pursue exploration and creativity rather than rigidness and regimented schoolwork? Can you imagine what the world could be?
Why put kid's art on clothing?Â
Kids' art has a way of making people happy. But the thing is, that because kids make it, most people write off the positive effect it can have just to see the world through a child’s eyes. Proud parents everywhere show off their kids’ creativity by hanging up their work on the fridge, but that limits the exposure of their masterpieces. So we believe we must show it off! Take the artwork from the fridge to the world, and put a smile on the faces of strangers you walk past. But even more importantly, seeing their art in the world will inspire confidence in our little Van Goghs to keep pursuing artistic expression. We want to create clothing for a cause and that cause is kids’ art!
How nxtgenart gives back?
Because our wonderful artists produce these amazing works, they should be compensated for the right to use their creations. Not only do we pay the artists for any piece sold with their art on it, but we also hope to inspire kids in underserved populations too. We have committed to pay 20% of our end-of-year profits to our partner charities that focus on bringing the arts to all. Even though schools have gotten rid of artistic education in many cases, we hope we can bridge the gap through our partners to bring the arts back in full force.Â
I hope you will join us on this wonderful journey and support our amazing young artists!
